Vegan Simple Sour Cream (K) (A)

For this recipe you will only need 5 ingredients. I use it for many salads, pastas and other dishes. You can use it as is or by adding garlic, green herbs and a little bit of water to make it a salad dressing.


1 cup of soaked overnight cashew nuts

1/2 Tbsp nutritional yeast

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup water

Juice of 1 lemon

Blend it all together in a blender and serve. This is one of the simplest and the most "sour-cream like" tasting vegan version.

Options: You can substitute cashew nuts with almonds or/and hemp seeds. Lemon can be substituted with lime. If you are making a salad dressing from the start, add 1/2 cup less nuts.
