Do you sometimes feel like there is nothing to eat, because there is always something bad about almost any food you can buy in a store? Well, unfortunately it is true and it's the reality of our life. It gets really challenging at times to wrap your head around all those ingredients on the food labels and the more you learn about them, the more you feel like there is not much healthy to eat. I genuinely believe there is an absolute way to eat anything you want and not to worry about what is in that food. This way is - raw food. Because once you process even a vegetable, it starts bringing side effect for your body.
I myself am an avid label reader. I never buy anything before I check what is in it. Way too many times I have to say "No" to myself on products which looked healthy on the cover, but the labels revealed different. Out of all vegetables white potato is one of the worst, in my opinion. It has the special kind of starch which gets into the cells of our organs, and sits there like trash, creating mucus and supporting many sicknesses along the way. In addition to the list with white potato I can add yucca root, corn, green peas, plantain, taro, and yams which also have a lot of starch in them. The difference with white potato is how quickly our body can deal with this starch. White potato is leading in this list on how long its starch stays in our body. The interesting fact though that RAW white potato is actually good for us and it does taste good. You can put it into salads same as you do carrots and beats. Juice from raw white potatoes is healing for people with stomach problems. It can cure ulcers if you drink it in the morning. There are good alternatives to potatoes and if you really crave them, you can always find a way to substitute it with healthier options. One of these options is cauliflower "mashed potato" (With no potatoes actually...). No, it does not taste exactly like a white potato, but it tastes good enough to make a substitute. Here is how you make Raw Cauliflower "Mashed Potato" 3 cups of cauliflower 1 cup cashews 1/2 cup of lemon juice 1/2 cup of fresh thyme 1 Tbsp of garlic Place all ingredients in a blender and blend till creamy. Hocus pocus! You have a mashed potato substitute!
